micro1 is an AI research and data company. It engages experts across many fields as remote contractors to train and evaluate AI models with real-world knowledge.
Hardware engineers are needed to help train and evaluate AI systems by building and checking difficult engineering questions drawn from real practice. You will write scenarios that demand sound judgment and quantitative reasoning, then craft answers that another engineer could independently reproduce.
Physical AI depends on models that understand how real hardware behaves: its constraints, failure modes and test evidence. Your experience with shipped products, verification work and failure diagnosis helps AI learn to reason about devices and systems the way a working engineer does.
This is contractor work for micro1, fully remote and open to applicants worldwide. It runs at roughly 15 hours per week on a flexible schedule you set yourself, weekends included. Pay is $60–$120 per hour and is output-based, paid per task that meets the project specifications, with minimum submission requirements. Screening questions, a roughly 30-minute AI interview and a hiring manager review come first, and selected experts are expected to start within 24–48 hours of onboarding.
This opportunity is with micro1, an AI research and data company that engages domain experts to train and evaluate AI systems. micro1 hires for it and runs the work, and Apply opens micro1's own application page.
