Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture and design: define system architecture (processor/SoC, sensors, power, memory, connectivity, interfaces), select components against performance, power, cost, size, availability and lifecycle, and write and maintain hardware requirements and specifications.
• Schematics and PCB: design or review schematics and PCB layouts, including high-speed, RF and power sections, and own the BOM, design reviews and engineering change control.
• Bring-up and debugging: bring up new boards, peripherals and sensors with firmware engineers, and debug with oscilloscopes, logic analysers, power analysers and thermal cameras.
• Power and thermal: build power budgets, select batteries and charging, maximise battery life, and manage heat in small, enclosed devices.
• Test and validation: write and run test plans (functional, performance, reliability, environmental, drop), and lead EVT, DVT and PVT builds and sign-off.
• Manufacturing partners: work with ODMs, contract manufacturers and suppliers on design, builds and quality, review partner deliverables, resolve issues to schedule, and drive DFM, DFT, yield and unit cost.
• Compliance and documentation: plan certifications (FCC, CE, UL, Bluetooth, ingress protection) and keep clear documentation of specs, test reports, drawings and design decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hardware engineering on consumer electronics, IoT or embedded products.
• Shipped at least one hardware product through EVT, DVT and PVT to mass production.
• Strong schematic design and PCB layout review (Altium, KiCad, OrCAD or similar).
• Hands-on with embedded processors and interfaces: SPI, I2C, UART, USB, MIPI, I2S.
• Board bring-up and lab debugging with standard test equipment.
• Power design for battery-powered devices: PMICs, charging, low-power modes.
• Experience working with ODMs or contract manufacturers, ideally in Asia.
• Clear written communication and a habit of making decisions from data.
